The Primitive Pineapple

Cypress knees are a very interesting and unique surface on which to paint. You will find there is never two exactly a like. Mother Nature is in control of them. Once they have been harvested, boiled and cleaned they are ready to paint. Each knee seems to dictate what the figure will be like.

CK #001R St. Nick

I painted this wonderful St. Nick on a cypress knee. He stands 10" tall and 4 1/2" wide. I used acrylic paint. He holds a pack on his back and in the other hand he has bells. There is great detail painted on him. He has 6 coats of varnish and then hand rubbed with wax for a beautiful finish. There is some information about cypress knees attached to the bottom before I varnished it. .

CK #002 White Santa with Pine

The tree is metal 6x12" tall with 3 red birds. Santa is 2 x 10" tall and is dressed in an off white robe with tan fur. He is holding a bag that has two patches on it. In his other hand is a pine bough that extends around the back of him.

Santa is among the pine boughs in front of a 12" tall metal tree with 3 red birds. He is 11 1/2" tall and dressed in Tomato Red coat. He is holding a wreath and sleigh bells.

Santa is standing among pine boughs at the base of a metal tree 6x12" tall which has three red birds. He is dressed in a tomato Red robe and is holding a lovely wreath in his hands. He is 3 1/2 x 11" tall.

Santa is 3 x 10" tall and is dressed in a red coat. He has been into Mrs. Santas cookies and has a pocket full of gingerbread cookies plus one in his hand.

CK #007 ~ McGregor’s Garden Bunny

This bunny stands 3 1/2 x 9 1/2” tall. He has been in the garden and has pulled some of the carrots which he has in his hands. You can see the carrots coming up and in the back there is a big pot of flowers. You are going to love him, even if Mr. McGregor does get annoyed with him.
